7 Random Things About Me

Sophie, the woman behind Beautynomics and Beauty & Minerals, tagged me so here it is with no preamble.. =p

1. I only wear shoes with at least 3 inch heels most of the time. My definition of flat is heels lower than 2.5 inches. And call me a fashion victim but although I have an almost ridiculous aversion to any physical pain, I can endure blisters to my feet because of walking around all day in super high heels. I went through a very brief flat-shoe phase but even then, they still had at least 2 inch-high heels.

2. I don’t like owing people anything. Excluding my immediate family of course.. to whom I owe most of what I am to. I’d rather people owed me than I owe them. I have been like this even before I knew about The Godfather series of books and movies just to make things clear. =p

3. I do not forget slights. If you have done something to me or to my immediate family that was wrong and I chose to ignore it at that time, don’t you for a second think I will or already have forgotten about it. I never will. And when you need something from me in the future, I take into consideration who and how you have been to me and my family in the past. But take not that that doesn’t mean I don’t forgive. I do. But forgiveness is different from forgetting.

4. My lifelong goals include owning a hot pink skyscraper in a major city. And to own a hotel-resort, have a globally acclaimed fashion house, have my own magazine or publishing company, write and publish a book, go to south america and africa, be wed in a gown of my own design and etc. I have every intent to fullfill them all =p

5. I am a TCK. A Third Culture Kid which is someone who has spent a significant part of his or her development years outside the parents’ culture, who build relationships to all the cultures whilst not having full ownership of any and whose roots are not embedded in a place, but in people, with a sense of belonging growing out of relationships to others of similar experience.

6. I can learn anything I want to and be very good at it. All I need is to really want it. For instance, I taught myself to draw, to design/build websites and to sew. My essays and creative writing stories get top marks in class, etc.

7. I’m a very private person. I may blog about my life but each entry is more of a hole in the window to my life rather than a detailed and accurate chronicle. I do not embellish or make up things as I write but all you see here are very filtered things.
