Almost Nightmare at the Museum

Dad had dinner here last night of Cebuano dishes he has not had in a long time (I think). He brought my watercolour pencils which I left. Then we went to La Marea at Crossing to have coffee with Tito Rudy, Ninang Loy, Tito Luchoy & Tita Carla, the latter two just arrived here from Canada for the Sinulog. It was a sort of mini-reunion for them. I was the only one under 40 years of age XD.

After the catching up which lasted til about 11pm, we then took dad to the Cathedral Museum of Cebu so he can see it before going back to Manila (this afternoon). Yes, the museum opened its doors for us some minutes after 11 in the evening. It was almost nightmare in the museum except the ivory pieces and Banglos sculptures didn’t come to life..

Something I scribbled:

reeds along dusty road

I am addicted to Starbuck’s green tea frappuccino with hazenut syrup. It’s wonderful.. Every sip is wonderful, specially the first. It’s like taking in liquid heaven. I tried it with irish cream, like the barista suggested, but ick. It didn’t taste good at all.. Hazelnut syrup is the way to go.. loveitloveitloveit

On to the Golden Globes..

Desperate Housewives Jamie King

See how like a midget Eva Longoria looks.. It’s her low waisted skirt that’s all wrong. It elongates the torso and the pouffiness right at the hips didn’t help either. I liked Jamie King’s look. I guess I’m a bit partial to empire waists.. they’re really flattering. SHe’s wearing Diane von Furstenberg paired with a vintage fur. I have absolutely nothing agianst wearing fur… And speaking of fur..

At the Hong Kong Fashion Week last Wednesday..

PETA is seriously so annoying.. Animals are for humans to use be it food or clothing. They don’t even know what they stand for anymore.. they just throw buckets of paint on anyone hairy enough. And anyway there is NO law against using animal skin for clothing. Nothing wrong with it. They really went out of line when they beat up that old woman with a baseball bat one time. She of course was just walking down a sidestreet in a furcoat when it happened. They care more about the ethical treatment of animals than ethical treatment of humans? They’ve to get their principles straight.

On American Idol: I really like Perla Meneses.. She’s so quirky and fun.. lol.

“And anyway there is NO law against using animal skin for clothing. Nothing wrong with it” how if we used human skin for clothing as a replace from animal skin, dat so scary anyway right *frightening*

Yikes.. well yes I agree.. Grabe naman yan.. =s
Pero, totoo ba yan? Baka PETA mismo gumawa nian. I mean who in their right mind ggawa nian diba tpos ppayagan pa kunan ng video.. Tpos ang daming bystanders. It doesn\’t look like a fur far na seryoso.. as in the moneymakers. Parang show cia eh..

Anyway, yeah may pasaway tlga pero PETA themseves.. kakairita!

I do empathise with correct treatment of animals. Yknow.. I\’m not this heartless person who kicks little puppies.. I love puppies and bunnies and everything like that but I just can\’t stand PETA themselves. When has it ever been right to beat up an old woman with a baseball bat and douse people with red paint. Those are people we\’re talking about. PETA is difficult to take seriously because they\’re so violent.. What was once a sensible animal rights movement has been perverted because they\’ve put humans over animals by using a \”by any necessary means\” philosophy to achieve their goals of complete animal liberation. You know they would go to bunny farms (bunnies bred for their fur) and kill all the bunnies they can find because they say it\’s better that they\’re dead rather than have people mistreat them for their fur. Not only is that horribly twisted logic but those bunnies are the property of someone else! They forego human rights for the sake of their stands.. And that\’s why I can\’t stand PETA and their embarassing antics. I am for proper treatment of animals but I am not for PETA.

Well, in my oppinion animals fur shouldn’t be used for fashion. It’s one thing if you’re living in a tent in Alaska or something, yeah, but to kill something so that you can look good isn’t morally right. However, that’s just my oppinion. I do agree that PETA has some problems, especially when they bet up that old woman. Like beating up an old woman is really going to do any good…
