Huge sunny side up eggs makes an otherwise dull square become an interesting destination! I love it! Haha.. This outdoor installation is called Art Eggcident by Dutch artist Henk Hofstra. I believe the eggs are still cooling at night and defrosting in the mornings until now- since its installation last May, it will remain there for 6 months. It can be found at Zaailand in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands.

Some of the “yolks” are all round and puffy. The larger ones are flat but still yellow, duh. None are edible. I love love all this random awesomeness from Northern European artists.. Just look at this one on Lake Geneva by Swiss artists Jean-Pierre Gaugg and Georges Favre

It’d be so great to see something completely random or super weird like these in the Philippines.. I’d love to do something like it.. an installation of huge Salvador Dali’s Persistence of Memory clocks draped allover the CCP perhaps? Who cares if it doesn’t make sense.. Lol.

Henk Hofstra is also the artist behind “Urban River” - yet another installation where he painted an entire city street aqua blue, attempting to create an outdoor art installation visible on Google Earth.

4000 litres of bright blue paint covered a 1000m stretch of road in Dratchen, Holland. Google Earth takes a few years to update so for now, you can see “Water is Life” written across the whole stretch via a helicopter.

I found out that the pop-up ads that sometimes come out were coming from the cbox chatbox so I’ve said bye-bye to it. The “About Me” page is still unfinished. Having a hard time writing about myself.. “Subscribe” doesn’t work yet, will notify when it’s fixed. The links are in the “Etc” section. Comment on the newest post if you want a link or whatever. I love my new look, hope you do to! :p

It was sushi for Sunday lunch with the family. We really liked how peaceful it was while eating at Sakae Sushi, the one at the Fort. That’s on top of how yummy the food was. It’s always a bother when we go out to eat and there’s so many people in the place- a lot of noise and other stuff going on- it gets stressful.

We had pork katsudon, chicken katsudon, some yakiniku-like dish on a hot plate, fish tempura and all the sushi that came from the conveyor belt. I wished there was some salmon sushi though..

Went to Fully Booked afterwards. As much as I like Fully Booked, they could improve their Fashion section. I was looking for some fashion history books and found only one.. That one only went back as far as the 1900.. Too recent. It was really beat-up too. Creased and wrinkled around the edges. The rest were just glossy coffee table books. I need sourcebooks, reference books. Ended up getting “Style Statement” by Mc Carthy and La Porte. I’m reading it and I like it so far.. really useful. After reading this book, I might be able to finish my “About Me” page. I’m having such a hard time writing about me.

“Decora is all about never growing up. Decora is one of the few fashions where you don’t have to make yourself look sexy. It’s not about showing off your body, but showing off your clothes and creativity. Also unlike other fashions and lifestyles (not naming any to avoid getting shouted at) it’s not about trying to look miserable or angry. It’s all based on looking and being happy, cute, and unique.

(dekora) is a Japanese word shortened from the English word “Decoration”. And that’s what Decora is. Decoration. Wearing as many accessories (and sometimes even toys) as possible. You’ll be able to hear a Decora-chan coming a mile away - with all their necklaces and accessories banging against each other ^__^”

Not officially over yet til Tuesday but I think last night’s the last I’ll go to. Sir Lev required us to go to the Wednesday show as there’ll be young designers showing. I was busy taking notes and Tin took most of the photos of the models as they walked up and down the ramp. I loved Tina Daniac’s ad Jerome Lorico’s collections the most. And I’d really like that huge hot pink shiny circle bag from Manelle Chamian’s show. I like most collections fairly enough but the others just weren’t cohesive. Another showed gowns so tacky, I honestly felt sorry for the fabric used. There were really cool, fun and funky ones like Happy Andrada’s and there was the moody amazing show by Lorico. As happy as I was for the designers who did a great job, there was one that sent prom dress after tacky prom dress down the runway.

Almost the entire school (LaSalle College International) turned up last night for Sir Gerry’s show- which was fun, young, totally summery and totally his style.

List of designers whose stuff I saw: (a heart means I generally love the collection) Jeffrey Rogador, Manelle Chamian ♥, Odelon Simpao, Twinkle Ferraren, Benjie Panizales, Butz Fuentes, Catherine Cavilte, Czarina Villa ♥, Emi-Alexander Englis, Happy Andrada ♥, Jerome Lorico ♥, Noe Reyes, Nolie Vineza, Arielle Agasang ♥, Benjie Manuel, Edgar Allan ♥, Edgar San Diego, Edwin Tan, Edwin Uy, Jaki Penalosa, Joel Escober ♥, John Guarnes, Jonathan Manitag, Oliver Tolientino, Pepsi Herrera, Tina Daniac♥, Judith Pajaro.)

Sundown and a little drizzle.

I had one of my most scary experiences there one night. We went to the town proper to get dinner for take out and when we started driving back, the heavens opened and it poured cats dogs and elephants. The winding road going back to the resort wasn’t lined with streetlights. And if it weren’t for the car’s headlights it’d be pitch dark. On top of the huge drops of rain pounding on the windshield, white billowy steam was rising from the road as the rain cooled it. We were driving through thick wisps of white steam. Couldn’t have seen any more than 5 meters ahead, kept expecting the road to just disappear or worse, all that curling whiteness somehow form the stuff of my nightmares from watching too many Japanese horror flicks. Got home fine though. It was even funny afterwards.

Then we found out there really are no lights on the road on purpose for the protection of the animals that live there. It must be as naturally dark as it can be, which makes sense.

So that’s it.. Subic’s a nice place to visit with the family. You’ll run out of time before you run out of things to do.
